about

My name’s Mary Catherine, and this site is mostly about what I do with books.

LIVE from the NYPL

I hold a PhD in English from The Graduate Center, CUNY, where I wrote a dissertation about poets’ libraries in post-World War Two America. I’ve taught at Brooklyn College, and worked at The New York Public Library in the Henry W. and Albert A. Berg Collection of English and American Literature, Columbia Libraries, and Graduate Center Digital Initiatives. Now, I’m thrilled to be joining Granary Books.

I’m trained academically, as an archivist, and in digital humanities–you’ll find me teaching or talking about most of things things around New York City, where I’m based.

This site is organized by projects and ideas, as opposed to work chronology–so feel free to explore, and be in touch if anything piques your interest or if you’d like a more formal curriculum vitae.

You can find me on Twitter at @mckinniburgh, or mckinniburgh (at) gmail (dot) com.
